The company was founded by former Prudential Senior Executive Pepper Schafer, who while at Prudential was President of the Georgia managed care operations. Pepper’s background in employee benefits, in building networks of physicians and in delivering a holistic solution for companies led her to start LifeWell.

LifeWell has a seasoned team of healthcare professionals that manage processes and transactions efficiently while providing a level of customer service that is unparalleled in the market.

In mid-2007, LifeWell signed an agreement with CoreSource, Inc., based in Charlotte, NC to utilize their systems including claims technology, online access to information, data reporting and medical management. Through this association with CoreSource, LifeWell now offers a world class online and back-office capability to its clients.

The company markets its healthcare services through agents, consultants and brokers and through its own direct sales.
